What ever happen to those joyous days of "Run Rabbit, Run Rabbit, Run, Run, Run?". Or those stickers and free stuff from Suburban Force? The Under Eora dirty seats but home to the asian invasion. What about the Jelly Joy Krew, quenching our thirst by drikning 70c Jelly Joy from the Filo store? The days of mornings where we sat infront of the canteen next to the coke machine (with Cherry coke). The days were Andrea, Penny and Loa were with us. When grades didn't apply to us. When competition didn't exist. When Lily brought in the *Shake Fists* thing in.
The Asian Group of Bethlehem 2008, the group which many people envied for such a "good" and "happy" group. What in the f**k happened? When bitching didn't exactly mean "I hate you" and "I don't want you in the group". From my point of view, this group was the place to be (for me anyways). A place where all (or most anyways, let's just forget Stella Thio ever existed) asians could belong. At first I made friends with Karen Cruz, who in the end became best friends. Karen G and Krissa were generally always there for me in the beginning. The beginning, Year 7. The days where most of the advanced math class was asian, and we always "forgot" our books, or generally sat on them. The days we were united as one.
Or the times of Penny's 7 beat hand clapping routine. And our group sounding tribAl. Or those chilling mornings Under Eora. Year 8, the excursions, Luna Park, Ashfield Park, Opening Ceremony, Science excursion and what not. Still united, still friends, no real problems. A few hiccups but we pulled through; TOGETHER. Karen Grace and her "Run Rabit Run". Rosa sticking up for me. Or remember those days were we sat on the thing that hung off from the courts infront of the old canteen? When Esther went to Korea "permanently" and Grace was still in our school. When Jenny and Esther were (y). The train krew, when Sydenham was the train that came at 3:15pm, not the Livo. THE HOCKEY TEAM PWNED =) Nicole & I battled it out with the bitch in the most weirdest ways; Locker, juice and Joselyn's phone. I had been suspended in this time.
Year 9. Jiyoon came from Canterbury Girls. Shakes Fists all round. Kylie's shortness. Competition was beginning to rise in classes, especially maths. People began to study O_O". The group had a few fights. Esther was gone, Grace was gone. Fights, blacklisting. All part of normal things. U.E.A? Rosa was gone too. The Year book committee, the autograph pages :) Drac's Back! C.A.R.E Group. Janice came, from Brisbane. Japanese camp ----> funniest shit (My Wife Is A Gangster), scariest shit (Bus driver's son), nicest shit (Food at times), prettiest shit (the gardens) .. etc etc EVER. Janice, Ara, Angela, Stephanie, Amy, Chiara, Jiyoon and I :). fun times. Group was beginning to unravel it's tight bonds with everyone. It was beginning to crumble, slowly. BFF Club, Ph7, IHBBF Club much maybe? When we were together to tell off Maria Theodorokopolis for losing Leanne's folder.
The great year of the School Certificate - oh the pressure! Competition, group outbursts, fights errupted; they weren't pleasant, blacklistings, being ignored, hated (and I came to help, but it was never appreciated). Not only that the raging crazy REDJ, decided to be fresh off the boat from the Phillipines making the Phillipino population like 2193829830918 / 20. LOL, her wild personality and the crazy things she did made some problems. She then moved to the older asian group in the grade above us. The whole burning of the apple (can be seen here - with encouragement from me), or the crazy shit she ate at camp (can be seen here. The group had a big communist wall between us. It was them against us. Friendships and bonds broke. Traitorism and Fakes were found. F(a) begun and the spasms and fights that broke out out of no where. But it could be understood, we were only growing up and friendships change. Janice left - with only a few knowing from the start; I was one of them.
The most recent year, the biggest impact, on both the group and my life. I won't be ashamed, I was practically hated in this group by some of the more "powerful" people if you say, and have been since year7, but having atleast some friends in this group have lead me to stay, things that most people won't understand is, friends are my life - not my family (because I have grown up to know they are all fake.), FRIENDS. With this, this year, I've grown closer to Joselyn, Jenny, Steph and Petra in particular because of the subjects we had in common. The group on the other hand is still in divisions, with the walls built up, not letting any traitors to the other side. Esther came back :) for abit at least. The walls are so high that when you do finally climb over them to have a chat with the other side, you get looked down upon. THOSE PEOPLE CAME and just made it worse. They made another division, but not for friendship, it was more like a bitching group. Their arrival has caused many upsets of alot of people. Our formal was probably one of the last times being divided but united ..

Problematic as it was, being nice to them meant nothing, it's all about gossip, bitching and all talk. They backstab their own "friends" from influence of other people. The walls grew higher but are probably not as resistant, as you see even the other side have the same view of them as us. It is obvious we aren't united, we don't even sit as a normal circle anymore, its a few circles at minimum. Why, why has our strong bonds broken and left us with friends we can barely trust, ones we can't forgive and hardships with the ones lost? THOSE PEOPLE are the catalysts of this major divisions between the asian group. They've even succeeded in breaking close bonds. We seemed fine when they JUST got here right?

But the first day, when Janice the dog came to visit, before THEY became apart of US. The major camwhore group of the grade, the one with most love, the ones with Kris Kringle, and chip-in birthday presents, the one who joins along with other peoples happy birthday's causing the courts to errupt in sing. It's all fallen apart, slowly the threads of friendship has been cut and slit away slowly until when THEY CAME they got large grand openning scissors to tear through us. Torn, or just like scurnched up paper, never to be perfect again, our group is tainted, but no matter what, maybe together in the end we can strive - together as the asian group of 2008.

Or maybe not? The social things we've been invited too (who goes, who doesn't, who wants to, who isn't invited). Or just how "it's all for face" goes, maybe we can't patch up this group with nedles and thread, maybe we need time to remember. Time for thought, time for everything to go back to place.

| Lily November 1, 2007 06:50 PM PDT Hello Dear, It's good to see that you're still blogging. Most people have given it up. :( Anyways, I see you're going thru that stage where you realise you're losing those who were once the closest people to you. Their true colours start to show and it's sucha shame to see people change so dramatically. I don't know what to say, but I'll leave you with this deep & thoughtful quote.. "There comes a time in your life when you realize who matters, who never did and those who always will. So don't worry about the people from the past because there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.." | ||
